Replace the traditional winch hook with a safer and more durable FlatLink shackle thimble and D-ring. The FlatLink shackle mount for recovery winches is the first folding shackle mount in the industry. All roller fairlead licence plate mounting brackets will work with the Flatlink since it is less than 1.75 inches thick.
Traditional winch hooks may cut and shred recovery straps, and they frequently enable strap ends to escape during regular winching recovery slack cycles. Due to the tight screw pin connection, strap loops cannot escape from screw pin shackles. The FlatLink is suitable with steel cables or synthetic ropes up to 3/8 inch in diameter and does not require splicing. A 5/8 inch diameter grade 5 steel double shear pin and internal snap ring keep the cable eye in the FlatLink. It takes only a few minutes to set up. EPDM Rubber Guards protect alloy fairleads and have four barbed points that hold them to the FlatLink. The FlatLink is intended to work with conventional 3/4 inch shackles and stows conveniently against either roller or Hawse style fairleads. The FlatLink is made in the United States of America from 6000-grade billet aluminum and is anodized/powder coated in five distinct colours.
